For Better or Worse

Tal goes all out for an attack in this game, sacrificing a rook to take down the black king's defences. For a while it seems that black will hold on, but a neat queen sacrifice forces mate.

Excuse my ignorance, but why doesn't black take the knight on move 24?

Edit: O is it after Qxd5, black has no way to prevent h6 then Qg7#?

Lovely finish.

I first ran across Tal's games within a few months of learning the moves and I wanted to play his style of chess.  After I lost a lot of games making silly sacrifices against better players I realised it wasn't so easy.  My own shortcomings notwithstanding, he's remained a favourite ever since.

As much as he achieved, I wonder how much more he could have done had his health been better?

Thanks for posting.
