Packers

Football and Chess, not a likely combination.  It all started in 1996, when I was watching Brett Favre and the Pack beat down The Pats in the Supre Bowl game.  At the same time, I was playing for the NH high school chess championship.  Although I didn't win the tournament, the Packers did, and ever since that Super Bowl, I have been a Lambeaufanatic.

So Brett Favre retiring?  Good, I think is the best way to put it, because he certainly went out on top, and wouldn't you know that his last pass was an interception!  Fitting for a career that pioneered the mobil passing game.

I have been a member of chess.com for aobut two months and have found it extremely welcoming and enjoyable.  My last online chess site, Gameknot.com, revoked my membership because they thought I had multiple accounts (when I actually introduced the site to some friends who played on the same school computers that I did.)

My favorite team is the Packers, and my favorite chess opening is the Italian Game for white and Caro-Kann for black.  Two simple openings, but I play more over the board anyway and find the openings helpful for establishing a strong positional game.  I feel that my weakest chess aspect is my ability to open rook files, which is why I have lost a fair number of games already.

Good luck to all, good luck to the Packers!  I welcome most all challenges from players greater than 1500.
