Why is it that theres GM and WGM categories?. I understand, for instance, that in tennis it makes sense to have independent male and female rankings due to evident physical differences. In chess though, I really dont see how being a woman or a man could make any difference. Are top GM and WGM levels really that different?.

    I myself dont take women titles serious at all but whatever FIDE does is just there way of doing things.
