Chess Tournament: Brandwag Open

Hi, this is my first blog ever! Let's hope it's not the last one though.

This blog I will be writing about a Chess Tournament, played in Uitenage, South Africa.

This was the second Eastern Province tournament of the year. The tournament got a total of 91 enteries! By the way the average number of players that enter here is about 30.

This tournament, Brandwag Open, was the most organized tournament I've ever played in. It was played over six rounds, with a time control of 60/60.

The tournament was won by Mr. Alex Kromhout, with a full score of 6/6. He had a briliant tournament, and seems to be back on top form. He managed to crush the second seeded guy in the tournament, Freddy Odendaal (rated 1928).

I myself managed a reasonable score of 3.5/6, but wasn't completely happy as I wanted atleast 4/6.

Below are some of the matches I played.

Is daar 'n rede waarom jy so vinnig jou stukke wil afruil?
