I learned to play chess when I was four years old from my grandfather. I first beat my grandfather when I was seven. I continued to play with my grandfather until he died when I was fourteen. After he died I stopped playing chess until I was twenty-two year old. I was in an automobile accident where I broke (both femurs, knee cap, ribs, neck, wrist, check bone, right ankle, collar bone, etc) numerous bones, had a punctured lung, had titanium rods, wire mesh, and bolts put in my legs, was unconscious for twelve weeks, a blood transfusion and couldn't walk for about a year. I had a supernintendo chessmaster game so I started playing it regularly. About 1997 I heard that some people were playing chess at the local library so I went. I liked it. We wanted to play longer than the library would let us so we started playing at the local Burger King.
We use to have a good size group of people at BK playing chess every Thursday at 5:00 PM to whenever. Now we are still playing, but there aren't many players now. Mainly myself and another guy are alomost always there. There are still other players who come just not every week. Every month or two we try to travel to Chillicothe and play some friends, but it's a little hard to do because of work and other things.
I love playing chess. We meet every Thursday about 4:30 PM and play to about 7:45 PM.
