My Journey thus far

Submitted by chessdadx2 on Sun, 05/11/2008 at 7:54am.

My journey thus far with this wonderful game has been eventful. I have made some great friends, learned some neat things. And most of all realized this game is a case in endless study and discovery. I am rededicating my focus to becoming a better player. Not for personal glory or pride, just because I love this game that much, and want to be an engaging opponent. I have also learned that the quick move is almost certain death in this game. That is is one place in this fast paced world that slow and methodical is a good thing. I am also happy that this game has brought myself and my 5 y/o daughter closer together, she watches play online. I am teaching her the pieces and their movements, and hopefully the game. And maybe one day we will waste away an afternoon in our battlefield of the mind. I have also learned to take advice when given, and criticism on my play. But most of all it has helped me grow as a person, husband and father.
