I am Done for awhile

To all my chess friends, I now realize I cannot devote the type of time I need to this wonderful game. I am 2yr veteran of this site and haven't improved 1 iota. I really need to look at if I am alright with this. I have taken short breaks before only to suck myself right back in. Not this time I am going to seriously reevaluate my need for this game. I have made some amazing friends and tried to learn some things, but not always. I will lurking and hoping to learn some things, but no games for awhile.

        Sincerely,

              Bernie

Having a break is healthy if you feel like it's consuming your life. Cool

I think just accepting that it's for fun is important and play at your own level.  Chess is amazingly addictive and I think we need to have moments like this where we take a good look at it and re-evaluate how much time we spend.

In any event I hope you don't leave for good as you are a nice guy and I enjoyed our game.

Dude...there are like three guys on the planet who aren't fodder for someone or another.  Most of us stall somewhere and spend lot's of time wondering why the hell we can't hang on to a rating of something-hundred.  Play, have fun and savor those times when you sneak up and whack that guy a couple hundred points over you!

Chess is a hard mistress, no doubt! If you're going to lurk awhile, we'd be happy to have you join the Vets in our vote chess games. No pressure, and it just might help you see things differently! Hope to see you soon Bernie.........................doug. My game has been on the skids countless times! And at the end of the day, it's just a game.
