Sandyboots:

Ronald Reagan gave us the longest peacetime expansion in history - so the Republicans have not always brought economic trouble.  Reagan fixed Carter's miserable mess.

I was for a third party candidate, but they never have a chance.  Obama is a really smart guy but has very little executive experience and questionable associations.  McCain is like putting Bush back in another 4 years (or more, heaven forbid).  Palin was a joke.  I didn't like either major candidate.

I definitely wanted Obama.  If you look at history, the Republicans always put us into an economic problem and a war of some sort..  it always took a Democrat to pull us out of it.  Bush was so arrogant and acted like such a spoiled child I really got turned off to his party. He went after the wrong person. Yes, Iraq had it's problems but they are not the ones that brought down the twin towers. He just had a need to finish Daddy's unfinished war.... wrong reason. I have a great deal of admiration for Obama. He knows what it's like to be in the "ordinary" everyday family where they struggle to keep things going. McCain never would know that. Not with his wifes 8 homes and 7 cars..  how could he even know. And Palin.. she really is a piece of work. I can't imagine her sitting down with a foreign dignitary and try to work things out...  she's too mouthy...it would never work.  I'm looking forward to a President that is for the people, not for his own pocket.
