Famous games of the best players: Karjakin - Anand 2006 (an. game incl)

So, I thought I'd try to start my planned series of posting and maybe one day annotating famous games played by the best chess players. The question is obviously - which players' games should I start with? The answer is quite simple: A famous chess player I would like to study more games from. Since I know practically nothing about Viswanathan Anand's way of playing and he recently defended his title as current World Champion (must admit I haven't seen even one move from that clash) against Kramnik, I have decided to start with one of his most famous games - the one against Karjakin in Wijk an See 2006.

Hopefully I'll be able to add annotations, variations and comments now and then - I regard this as a chance to develop my analytical thinking and at the same time enjoying (and hopefully discussing) some of the greatest chess games ever played.

Unfortunately I know that I have a tendency to have plans for big projects that tend to end up as...if not "nothing", at least not very much. So, I might as well post this first game before lack of time consumes my ambition and desire to do so.

Here we go then,

Sergey Karjakin - Viswanathan Anand, Wijk an Zee 2006.

Sicilian: Najdorf. English attack. ECO:B90

(Have begun annotating the 19 first moves)

Yes, if I can find the time to. Also hoping for some input and analysis from other members. Let's look at these pieces of art together... Smile
