*Your* Games, Analyzed

Submitted by IM dpruess on Fri, 09/04/2009 at 3:22pm.

Yesterday, on chess.com TV we broadcasted our first episode of what will be a weekly program, "Your Games, Analyzed." Each week a master will go over a game supplied by a chess.com member. Next week's broadcast will be at 5 pm pacific on Thursday. At the very beginning of the program, I will ask a chess question; the very first to answer it correctly may have their game analyzed. Please be prepared to either send me the link in chat, or to message or email me the pgn.

Here is the game that was discussed this week, for anyone who wants to play it over. For my explanations about the game, you can rewatch the broadcast at www.chess.com/tv by clicking the on-demand button.

Analyzing member's games is a great idea. I think it's the first time it's available in Video format.

Like a good lesson from the chess teacher at the club ! Smile

some answers:

- there will be live broadcasts at more varied times. we are starting with just a couple programs, but we will increase the number if the viewership is good, and ppl enjoy the programs. as we have more programs they will cover more time zones.

- i will cover a game somewhat at random among chess.com membership this coming week, based on who answers my question. the following week i will purposely go over a game from a master on here; we'll see how people like that. my guess is that more people would benefit from the analysis of a player between 1200 and 2000, but we will try lots of things, and see what members tell us.

This was probably the most informative article/video/lesson I have seen on this site. It was absolutely perfect for me and helped my understanding a great deal. I lupgraded my membership and am looking forward to more, more, more!

Like I said during the broadcast, this is what chesstv should be all about.  Don't get me wrong, I like GM games, videos, and lessons, but more can be learned by analyzing the games of regular folk (1350-1750). IMO

Keep up the great work David and Erik.

I watched it, excellent.  Maybe next week you could do a game between to masters from chess.com for more in-depth analysis.

It's great that you have the broadcasts stored as VoD! It makes the production time-zone independent, the viewers can watch or replay whenever they want. Keep up the great work!

And an impressive broadcast it was, David.  Some of those throw-away ideas you were sharing are worth gold.  I'll certainly be watching again.
