Question 11 Opening

Submitted by drakesdman on Sun, 06/28/2009 at 3:57pm.

Hi this question is about an opening ive been using recently and was wondering what is it called? Also is it solid? Does it lead to quicker endgames? Does it lead to generally longer or shorter games? Here it is. With a few variations.

There are many others ive played against

The opening is the Indian Game Tarkatower Attack.  ECO A:45  Solid.  Yes.. leads into a very complicated game (much like all of the Indian games)... I wouldn't recommend it as the first opening to study if you are just starting to study... but its a really good long-term weapon.

Each of those came from my games. In general i think its strong for me because of castaling

knight protection

bishop for king safety also long diagonal

pawn structure

For me it usually leads to  a lot of pawn locks and longer games

Both are not solid and yet both are. I can attack on both boards and with pawns so I will have developed them earlier and make you make moves you might not want to.   It all come down to your opponent.  How experienced he is, and, in your puzzles you are playing both sides. Who ever is playing against you might not let you get to this point.   Puzzles are great if your opponent does exactly what you have done.  If he doesn't then these setups are just for you to look and imagine what might happen.
