Canadian Open Final Round

Submitted by ericmittens on Sun, 07/19/2009 at 2:13pm.

Today I redeemed myself with a nice win with white in a king's indian. My opponent played a somewhat dubious system and quickly got into trouble. Some tactics followed and I emerged on top. This is the final game making my total score a somewhat disappointing 4/9. Still, this is my first big tournament and some lumps are to be expected on the road to improvement. I'll have lots of games to go over in detail when I get home. I got to play and talk to some really excellent players as well which can only help my progress. I'll write up a tournament overview later with my impressions and some player profiles.

Here is the game:

Thanks Farbror, I find putting my games online is a good way to rant and vent after horrible losses!

I have really enjoyed your tourney write-ups! Nice to have some chess to think about while changing dipers.
