London City Championship U1800 Round 12

Last night I played an unrated friend of mine. We played a rather leisurely game as he blundered tactically pretty early on and I more or less coasted to the win for most of the night. With 1 round to go I'm a full point ahead of the 2nd place fellow so I just can't screw up next week!

Hmm...b5 looks good, I see no problems. I think my brain was too focused on the kingside to think about minority attacks, I still had some visions of mate and e4 seemed like the best way to continue on the kingside. Also I liked the idea of posing another immediate threat, although my opponent seeing me play on both sides of the board may have been even MORE demoralizing for him! Wink

good game. i know its a question of planning (but those are my favorite): What do you think about, instead of 22. e4, going ahead with a minority attack by playing b5?  You'd have another pawn guarding the ...f4 break, increase the scope of the Bg2 and make the b or c file a good place for a rook. I didnt analyze it much tho, just an idea.
