Last night I played an unrated friend of mine. We played a rather leisurely game as he blundered tactically pretty early on and I more or less coasted to the win for most of the night. With 1 round to go I'm a full point ahead of the 2nd place fellow so I just can't screw up next week!
Hmm...b5 looks good, I see no problems. I think my brain was too focused on the kingside to think about minority attacks, I still had some visions of mate and e4 seemed like the best way to continue on the kingside. Also I liked the idea of posing another immediate threat, although my opponent seeing me play on both sides of the board may have been even MORE demoralizing for him!
good game. i know its a question of planning (but those are my favorite): What do you think about, instead of 22. e4, going ahead with a minority attack by playing b5? You'd have another pawn guarding the ...f4 break, increase the scope of the Bg2 and make the b or c file a good place for a rook. I didnt analyze it much tho, just an idea.
