Correspondence Chess is LIVE!

Submitted by erik on Sun, 07/08/2007 at 4:08pm.

Chess.com has finally launched correspondence/turn-based chess! We are calling it "email chess" so that everyone understands that it is turn-based and you can choose to get an email when it is your turn. Or, just stay online and get an alert when it is your turn to move. Play a whole game in 5 minutes, or take 2 months. It's up to you and your opponent!

What are you waiting for!?

*sigh* do you know how much space it take for a super engine?!?!

Not many people know this but in Kasparov v.s. Deep Blue, Kasparov only lost one game!! 1-draw, 3-losses, 2-wins.

And to marry the engine to chess.com so it can read the opponents moves?!?! that takes real hacking and real brains

"Eventually, maybe we could actually have correspondence tournaments within the chess.com community, I think this would be lots of fun!"

It does sound cool! I hope however that if tournaments do happen the rules are well thought out and there is an abuse team in place to make sure participants play fair and don't use a super engine to clobber everyone.

Yeah, this is GREAT! I have already started a few correspondence games and everything looks very nice.
