In this game, game explorer let me build to a middle game and look at enough other games that were similiar enough to my position to show me what I needed to do to win. 

Without it I'm sure i would have made a positional blunder.  Instead I was able to orchestrate a pawn march down the kingside, break down the pawn fortress around the king, tie down whites active pieces into simple blockers, and finally march my h pawn down the open file scaring off the minor pieces defending the king.  After all that I had all the space I needed to coordinate an attack while white was backed against a wall unable to even bring all of his pieces to defend let alone mount a counter attack.
