T3, Round 5

Last round and second win in the tournament. I really like these weekend tournaments more than longer tournaments because the pressure of playing good games is divided into shorter periods of time. I play chess between these tournaments, of course, but I don't feel the same kind of pressure in the games I play, for example, in the internet or at the chessclub.

Sometimes when I play, I calculate some variation and think that the ending position is good for me. The problem is that I usually don't check my calculations along that variation and instead have great trust in my previous calculations... Tongue out Well, even I do mistakes and when my opponent plays something I haven't thought about, problems start... In this particular game, I was quite worried about my position after 17.Rxe4 as I saw the follow up 17...Nf6 and the pawn on d5 is a goner. I thought about the possible capture on e4, already on move 15. I was quite sure how I am going recapture the pawn, do I take it with the knight or with the rook. I wanted to place my knight to c4, so I thought on move 15. that I am going to recapture the pawn with my rook. At that point his move Nf6 after I make the recapture didn't really bother me at the time, I didn't even realise the possibility of me losing a pawn after Nf6... Surprised I just quickly thought after I made the move 18.Re1 that my only hope to survive is to play Qb3 after he takes the pawn on d5. After I moved my queen to b3, I realised how bad black's position really is. After a while of looking at the board, I was sure that I'm going to win this game, without any problems. I can only wonder why in the analysis, rybka thought that the position after Qb3 is only clearly better for white. Also, not even a question mark after 18...Nxd5, which strikes me as odd.
