HaHa and other crappy replies or comments

I do not understand why an individual leaves inane or useless comments. I read a post by a certain member who was asking a question about the resign button. Maybe this question is not relevant to most, but the only reply he got was "HaHa". this response was totally uncalled for and, in my opinion, a complete waste.

Another example are such comments left on groups. If you have nothing redeeming or of particular relevance to the game of chess, then keep your comments to yourself. You have a right to free speech within limits. That's why laws are created to protect people from libel, slander, etc. Don't waste your freedom on crappy replies.

No, I'm just kidding! :) I think the reason they do it just for the sake of the post, because then they'll get a link directing people back to their profile. How on earth do I know this? I've done it before. I'm not doing it now, mind you. Usually if people are just looking to up their points, they'll just leave a really short reply. I've done it before when I want people to look at something on my blog or profile. But now that I think of it, it makes more sense to leave a long post than a short one. Then it gives the illusion that you have something to say.
