So this website seems promising. As I write this there is a light orange 'beta' hovering above the '.com' in the page title. I hope everything I've read so far about this site hold true in the future. As I see it this is basically a social network with chess. Which is pretty much what I was looking for but could only find if it included ads, or so-called 'premium' memberships. I suppose that will prove to have it's ups and downs here at Chess.com, so-to-speak. Now with my opening (and boring) musings aside I will post something of interest to my currently non-existent readers; earlier this evening I pitted two famous chess engines against each other in a preliminary game.

In the white corner we have the Chessmaster, coming to you live from my Nintendo GameBoy Advance.

In the Black Corner we have GNU Chess running on Xboard in Linux-Mint.

Also, OMG I can put .PGN files into my blog, and it's even layed out all newspapery and neat-like. ... nerd-gasm. Anyhow.

As you can see the gameboy driven chessmaster trounced the opensource underdog, but wait! The Chessmaster engine was set to the hardest level while the GNU-chess engine was set to easy. As I stated this was a prelim just so I could see how it would work, now that's over, I'm gonna play a full match between the two on their hardest settings to see what happens, and I will report here my findings.

Awright kids, that's all I got, I'm tired. G'night!
