my first game

So I decided it was time to ruin my nice round 1200 and play a game. Sealed I hovered my cursor over 'MY HOME' up to the right and drop down menu had a number of options. The first item I clicked on led me to my first game. Life gets hectic so I chose 7 day moves and was immediately paired with a player rated a bit past 1000. Man am I gonna die. I was  pleasanly suprised that the opponent being online meant the board would automatically update when his first move was made. On other sites I've played before I would have to keep hitting 'refresh' over and over and over. Yell

Anyhow. I'm still thoroughly impressed with this website. I joined a group, 'amateur chess'. About as fitting a group for me as there could be on chess.com. I'm hoping to meet some cool people that will not thumb their noses at me for be very, very bad at chess; and in fact will welcome me and teach me a better way, of losing aaaaaaaalllllllllll the time.Tongue out

I'm also still working on posting more results of the great Chessmaster versus GNU chess bout.I would like to take this moment to state that I don't cheat. It hasn't been questioned and I don't really wanna deal with it in the future so here I am. I am entrigued by the idea of computers outdoing us humans at something that is completely within the realm of man, ie: chess.  So while I may blog or post about gnu-chess or the handheld chess games, I don't use an engine in my games. Now if I were to work something out with an opponent like, 'mine versus yours' that might be interesting. Sorta like so-called "advanced" or "Cyber"-chess.

Now that that's over, I'm gonna post the results of a few games in an upcoming blog. I will probably solicite analysis from at least the new group I joined, but feel free to offer constructive criticism even if we haven't met.

'till then, I'll be around.
