Beating the Expert

This, as you'll see, is far from my best game.  However, since my opponent Robert Drane (2026) was the highest-rated opponent I've beaten so far, I feel compelled to blog it.

My opponent battered me in the opening and unleashed a damaging attack on my king.  However, his attack withered in the end, leaving material roughly even.

Later, while we were both under time pressure, he blundered, trading rooks at a time when doing so left him helpless to stop my pawn promotion.  So, again, clearly not my best game but I'll take it -- my one and only win (so far) over an expert.
