My Shortest Game Ever
After I fought against an expert for 65 moves the previous game, Sheldon Mullins (1807) made short work of me in this, my 27th USCF game.
This was, of course, my shortest USCF game ever -- a personal record I'm pretty sure I'll never break.
I never saw it coming. My opponent was almost apologetic afterwards. He said that he thought I knew the opening because every move I'd made was from the book line. In fact, I had never seen this opening before and certainly never studied it.
And I certainly didn't see the smother mate coming, disguised by the queen hiding behind the knight (at least that's my excuse).
