Unusual Board

Submitted by kohai on Sun, 06/14/2009 at 8:10am.

While i was on vacation, i kept passing a store that never seemed to be open so i had to take these pictures through the window.

I've never seen a chess board or pieces like this before, and had the store been open, i'd have definately checked out the price tag on it Wink

*Note ~ the two pictures are large so may take some time loading

I once saw in europe in a shop very beautiful chess set. The chess pieces were made from dark and white crystal, and the board was made from gray crystal. Although not too big, it's price was imaginary- 1000 euro.

Being a fan of the Dragon, I must say it looks quite Satanic.  Evil indeed I say.

The passive, sedatious, sneering looking Queen.  The King with his EVIL eye peering at his concubine as if death is to follow.  The Bishop huddled together in himself with whisperings of conspiracy and covert undertakings.  The Knight, look at the overlord of a dragon you would have as your champion on the battle field.  Intimidating, overwhelming,  who would dare challenge him.  And the rook.  Look at how the Devil himself is comsuming the walls of his apponents walls.  Destroying some kings Camelot of his realm.

Evil I say, pure evil.

A Set of the Greatest Game that would never pass through the doors of my home.  Indeed, evil.

I think it's cool! And it's that hard to tell the pieces apart the rook(for example) is a dragon wrapped around a castle.

Some are ok, others aren't, in this case it's alright, but I wouldn't want it in my house

I would get it for decoration purposes, but for playing it is too  confusing for me.

That would cost at least $300, I prefer plain pieces so i can see whats going on without having to remember which pieces are which!

Pretty badass set. I love the whole "piece-graveyard" beneath the board.
