Pawn Poser -- 14 opening moves and no piece move!?

Submitted by loh335 on Fri, 04/25/2008 at 1:52am.

This is my first chess blog.  I thought this game-in-progress is so unique that I have to post it to generate opinion (I am playing black).

My white opponent has made 14 pawn moves and has not made any piece move!?  Is this massive pawn storm effective?  Will it change the way we view the conventional wisdom of opening principles or even create a new direction in opening theory?

I am not sure how this casual game on itsyourturn.com will turn out?

But I am curious what the Chess.com community think.  Any comments are most welcome!!!  Thank you.

My friend does this from time to time.  He and I are not particularly strong players, so I can't comment with any real authority as to the effectiveness of the maneuver except to say that I've gotten through it.  For us, it just makes for a tedious middle game.  I end up sacrificing more material than I'd want.
