Life ~ Keith Richards

    With the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards created the riffs, the lyrics and the songs that roused the world, and over four decades he has lived the original rock and roll life. He took chances, spoke his mind and made it all work! Now, he has written the book of rock in the 60s and on ~ a story of life in the crossfire hurricane. His book is called ‘Life’ and has just been published in the nick-of-time for me to be able to go out and buy it to take as reading material on holiday!

Creator of  immortal riffs, falling in love with Anita Pallenberg ~ stealing her away from Mick Jagger (I think she went round the whole band)  and the death of Brian Jones. His ever increasing fame, isolation and addiction, falling in love with Patti Hansen, his estrangement from Mick Jagger and subsequent reconciliation ~ it’s amazing that they have stood the test of time!

    In a voice that is uniquely his, with disarming honesty that has always been his trademark, the drug-battered and wrinkle-scarred baron tells it all. Here’s a couple of insights ~ his take on Elvis and his condemnation of Mick kowtowing to the establishment and accepting a knighthood and a couple of tracks ~ one an old piece of classic blues rock and something newer harmonizing with Norah Jones in a tribute to Gram Parsons ~ Love Hurts ~ it’s cool bananas.
