                                        The king in endgame

 

In endgame the role of king is often from a special importance. He is normally no longer in mate danger and can become active.

Here a game in which a king walk into black`s area was decisive:

(edit: there is a bug in move 12. To see the rest of the game you have to switch into move list)

Ahhh this I can do. Its Q P endings, R+minor piece endings that I seem to struggle with.

Nice Heinrich, the calculations to achieve that positon with the withe king on d7 are impressive to me.
