I have been playing chess over the internet for the past few months now and though I have set a target of about 2000 points I have yet to reach that that target and this has been frustrating for me and in a few times thought of abandoning the game all together (fat chance) I guess that is the attraction to the game (exciting elation when you win....frustration and despair when you loose especially when it's a game that you had the upper hand or you and you forget about your flanks or just make a silly mistake as I would put it. (Maybe I am just not good enough :-)
That brings me to my point of chess...it's a game that requires analytical thinking, caution and patience and mental stamina too.
When I compare it to life I see parallels....You have to seize the opportunities dealt in front of you or they disappear....I suppose you can say that about all games. One needs to be cautious without being over cautious....something I see in people I come across all too often.
Logic also comes into play too many times people come out with things based on their own personal feelings without looking at the bigger picture. Sometimes leading to disastrous consequences. We may have knights, foot soldiers (pawns) etc…Recent events show that war in the real world doesn’t solve our problems
Maybe more people need to play chess….:)
