Shveshnikov, don't try this at home:)

Playing against Shveshnikov Sicialian is a lot of fun, it always gets very crazy. Below is a blitz game I just played, I have no time for decent analysis(I am sure a couple mistakes could be found), I have to run....just the game felt like fun so I wanted to show it. I suck at blitz games, always run out of time, so was glad to win it against an opponent with a significantly higher blitz rating than mine.

Yes, crazy lines is the staple of his chess.  Funny enough, it has never worked against cold-blooded players like Kasparov or Anand.  Maybe there was something to Kasparov's characterization of Shirov as a 'gifted amateur'.Smile

You're right, I picked it up from him, he shows some crazy games of his on the "My Games in the Sicilian" video.

Nice game, Simon.  In Shirov's style, I would say.  Were you inspired by his Sveshnikov games from the 'Fire On Board'?
