Interesting facts about Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea is located on the eastern half of the island of New Guinea. Papua New Guinea became independent in 1975 and is a member of the South Pacific Forum and the Lome Convention, the Melanesian Spearhead Group and more important they are a member from the Commonwealth, on the UN. Although it is quite be, it as an area of 461,693 square kilometers, according to their national census from 1980 we can only find 3,5 million persons living in Papua New Guinea, as so many other countries in the world they live under a parliamentary democracy, Ill jump the political part, it isn’t quite as interesting as the rest, and you will be able to read about it in this WikiTravel article LINK

·         New Guinea is one of the largest islands in the world. Actually according to Wikipedia it is rated as the number two largest island, after the giant Greenland from Denmark.  

·         Hundreds of ethnic groups indigenous to Papua New Guinea live together in the island, it as the most heterogeneous population in the World.

·         Papua New Guinea has the greater diversity of languages than any other nation on earth with over 850 indigenous languages
