I give up

Submitted by paul211 on Fri, 04/03/2009 at 4:00pm.

The unread posts are so cummulative that I cannot keep up any more with opening them one by one and cancelling.

Something has to be done about this.

Either I can opt out of the system or I can delete posts that I do not wish to read.

How does anyone cope with this ?"

Very odd that my last post was posted prior to artfizz, likely a bug!

I have no alerts for topics that I am tracking and no alerts for any message or my move to play, I just do not want 25 alerts in a day that I have to cancel or delete from my IE inbox.

What I am suggesting is a mechanism that would enable us to flag and skip those unread posts that we do not want to read.

The exercise of opening all of the posts one at a time to remove from the list of unread posts is rudimentary and archaic.

In this day and age of computers there has to be a simple programmable way to do it, programming may not be simple.

I just like to have a clean salte or almost in the unread posts, everything else belongs to the site, their prerogative, I want control over the unread posts.

How can it be done?

Possibly you are referring to ALERTS for topics you are tracking. Certainly it is a good idea to explicitly STOP TRACKING topics you are no longer interested in.

It is a little confusing to say 'delete posts' - since the only posts you can actually delete are the one you have personally written.
