ABOUT THE FRIEND LIST

Submitted by paula53 on Sun, 03/08/2009 at 10:46am.

I would like to know how do you behave when  in your friend list you have persons with witch you dont play  anymore ......Undecided What  do you do ??? do you keep them in your list? do you cancel them???

At the beginning I was accepting everyone in my friend list....after more of one year I decided to cancel all the persons   that don't say even hello ...I think It doesn't have any sense keeping people in a list called "friend list" when we  don't have anything to say ...

It can happen that we don't play anymore because our level became different...but at least we  can continue to say hello from time to time....

Anyway I don't beleive in this "LIST"...

One thing I think of when it comes to the topic of this blog is how different cultures value personal relations more than others.  Being of Greek descent, I understand the passions of my Italian chess players and their desire for some personal passion in others.  Besides the cultural difference that not all people relate to this passion, the computer de-personalizes this interaction even more.  That is why I invited you to be a friend because I had a nice conversation with you unlike so many others that I play with.

I agree..I like to play the people in my friends list regularly to keep in touch and to just say hello..if not, well..I delete them from my list..and that is regardless of our ratings.

Paula, It has been too long since we have played. I hope all is well in your world. Currently I am in Albuquerque NM just south of Santa Fe working at an Emergency Department of the hospital. Are you still traveling?

Yes...Ray...I like as well to see my friends on line...and even if we don't play for a while ....we can share together our passion  for chess...

I like to feel that I'm playing with a person and not with a computer.....

But unfortunatly I had many games  where  I said " Hi"  ....but I didn't receive any answer  Frown.....I felt really stupid.....

I like the list because I see when my friends are on-line. But I am going to delete the ones I never play any more. I want to keep you -- we're a good match -- same level and age
