My first taste of correspondence chess in chess.com -- when I won a piece through a blunder my opponent immediately went on holiday! 
I'm not ranting about it though. It's not like he's the only person I play with. A few hundred blitz games a day is always a click away.
A person inquired why I don't play turn based chess, or long games. I would but only if I knew the person or had tasted their blitz games. I don't want to waste my time (x amount of time of my life) to play people who can't think for themselves.
Blitz games reveal a lot about a person. Someone tried to refute me by saying "So in order to prove himself, a long distance runner is asked to run a sprint?" The analogy is way off. Both players have the same amount of time; chess is a game of action and what you have learned and studied is being put immediately into play.
Of course, one can improve playing long games but I'd rather play on playchess.com or ICC for that where they would be able to detect engine use. Here in live chess I've already set the maximum time I would play with someone -- 3 minutes blitz, maximum. It is to prevent from playing someone who "plays two games". Should he be busy playing out another set of moves to be analysed on a chess engine, I believe I'm decent enough to be able to win on time against his handicapped computer.
I am already able to recognize many cheaters on live chess though. They have garbage quick ratings, and play like garbage in blitz three and under, but excel and play like masters when it's five minutes or more. They'd play on their own once they're leading but then they make many serious errors. Some people who I believe were using computers when playing against them keep saying to me "I had your number; I'm the winner" etc etc when they lose on time but one should ask why they had the better position and 0.00 left on the clock while I had 2.17 left. What was making them take so long? And soon they challenged me for a longer game. One of them, who also has an account on playchess, declined to play it there citing many ridiculous reasons and insists on playing it on live chess.
When discussing games they hardly could give a decent assessment without displaying a long series of lines that look like the numbers we see on NASDAQ. "I thought Black could add more pressure on this square here to prevent counterplay on the wing," I once said. And the person said "huh?" oblivious to the reason he played a certain opening. He was able to make the moves according to a plan, but do not understand the plan itself!
I will be able to get a credit card soon and would be able to subscribe here. The site doesn't accept fund transfers so I have no other choice.
Meanwhile, I have also been able to detect cheaters playing turn based chess. It's amazing how someone who kept losing, rated somewhere 900 in his first ten games, be able to improve tremendously, had an amazing winning streak, and now rated at 1800, nearly 900 points in less than a month. Thanks to the site not letting people delete games, we are able to assess a person from their previous games and know if there were any outside assistance.
I have reported one but that person is still in this site. I do not know the reason he's still here but I can't do anything more. If I post the names on the forum they will be flamed on and immediately banned since many others will be complaining on my behalf. But doing that will only risk my membership here and hope that they would be gone soon.
