My Final Game of the Season - a WIN!! :)

Yes that's right I ended the season on a high with an awesome win!! After 3 losses in a row I had a big think about my approach to the game... gone was greed and wild tactics and solid positional play was back on the menu and this win, tasted very very good

Things weren't in my favour before the game though - 3 previous losses, last minute venue change, last minute change up to board 4 and playing an opponent I lost to earlier in the season.

I thought I was playing white on board 5 when I got changed to black on board 4 - but I went in with my relaxed approach, and played the position, not the person...

The game was over long before checkmate but as a psychological thing it was important to end my first season back in chess with a victory and getting to say "checkmate" just made the whole thing 100x better!

Hopefully I'll be in a tourney or 2 over the summer but I have until the end of September to play, learn, study and take my game up yet another level for the 2012/13 season.
