Like the title says, I recently won with the scotch gambit after my opponent played a move which has been tried by masters but does not fair too well.

i dno't like the idea of winning a pawn here, sinc eyou're giving up your light square bishop. blacks king (Castled or not) is on a light square, your light square bishop is the most useful peace you have in your attack.
you were just lucky your opponent made a mistake which leads to a checkmate, but if your opponent played correctly, he can equalize quickly. because you gave up your ligthsquare bishop to a knight + pawn.
i prefer white with 9. e6!
