I like to play 1 c3 for a change every now and then, but I follow up with 2 Qc2 regardless of what Black plays!

This tends to stop the Black player for a while, he thinks he must be playing a madman :)

Here is a game with a few brief comments for you to consider.

Well here is a new variation I found and thought was solid. A bit better then 3. Nf3 I beleve but again it has not been cross checked with a computer (because I do not have fritz i was wondering whether someone kind enough could give the computers opinion on the matter.

Now from this position here I can up with this continuation (I am afraid that I haven't cross checked with a chess engine but I believe human analyse is extremely important when evaluating openings)

so here is the position after 1. c3 e5 2. e4 Nf6 3. Nf3

now my line continues like this I hope that it is all sound and i would love to hear your thoughts.

Now i just put thes position:

Now chess master played 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.d3?! and i believe positionally black is already winning. (white lost this game but i will put it on a longer time control also maybe a different 3rd move would be better then Nf3?!

So at the moment I am examining 1.c3 e5 2.d4 and ill see how that evolves but i would really love to hear your thoughts on some main lines that you may have come across.

This here is the line being analysed by me at the moment I will also keep you up to date on my findings with the above diagram.

Now with this position Chessmaster came to a draw against itself and I believe although Nf3 is still alive i trust that d4 is somewhat sounder but i promise I will not give up on Nf3 and I am continueing my analyse (this time without a computer) So with my analyse you can get the feel that only a human mind could have found these moves.

and here is another one (this is bullet so not very accurate :) but it was identical to the last games opening variation except this time they played 4... Be7 but it sort of transposed into a similar position any way this game was decided mainly by the time pressure made him/her make a blunder winning me the game easily.

I will be looking alot at responses and my first post on opening variation 1. c3 e5 will be posted. hope you all enjoy it! (lol at move 33. i missed mate in 2 dammit i hate lightning chess)
