chess games

why do so many people start a game but only last less than five moves untill they do not make another move until 3 days later. i understand that in most cases the games only require 1 move per three days. However I feel that if u challenge someone you should at least let them know that you only plan to move three times then leave them hanging for a few days. especially if you want to play a game within a night.
update. you are all correct in your comments, but sometimes it is frustrating trying to find someone who stays for a while usually not all but most people only play 5-6 moves then you have to find someone else to play and you can end up having too many games to keep track of. So you make too many mistakes and then it seems you are not getting better and that is frustrating. thanks to all who commented.

i agree to players to wait for at least 3 days to make a move...why???its b'coz of the fear of making a blunder without thinking...other chess players dont have the ability of a quick thinker...im glad that chess.com has such a feature...and most of the times...people are working and are very busy to think about the right move for chess...they are thus prone for blundering a move...hey,chess is just a game you know...and there are more important things in life to do rather than to play chess...i think if a person is relaxed and has solely has chess in mind...then its the only time he could concentrate on the game...don't you think so???

I rather finsh the game in the same day the three day thing is not bad, some time you don,t have the time to finsh you can always come to it later, i would rather know if you want to finsh the game i will let you know if i can, or let you know when i will be back to finsh it.

it would also be good to change the time setting to it,s lowest time set.

well i think it could be they dont know the rest of the opening, see the opening is about that many moves for most players under 1700 for egs so they use the fact they have the time to think on what they should do so they dont make as many mistakes and get a better game and nattysis is right too sometimes they just dont have the time to play all day too...If u want quicker games mate change the time setting to 1day per move and u can go to your prefferences to make sure u only get that time per move players challanging u...Good luck in your games and relax mate u still got plenty of chess or u can go to www.cupofchess.com to play 15mins games if u wish.......Cool

I think the main reason is that many people don't have more than a few minutes to play is this stressed up way of life nowadays. But if you want to play a game within a night it's better to put the time per move to much shorter, like 5 minutes or something
