ANason21, your analysis seems good to me, my oppinion on the variation that you posted is a draw. Despite the fact that white is up a pawn, I don't think its far advanced enough to win. But I think you are right that f4+ does not win the game for black. And honestly, the stalemate is wayyy cooler!!
ANason21
I don't know if f4+ wins for black. It allows white enough time to queen too. E.g., 1. h6 f4+ 2. Kxf4 Kxa6 3. Kf5 Kb6 4. Kxf6 a5 5. Kg7 a4 6. Kxh7 a3 7. Kg8 h2 8. a7 a1=Q 9. h8=Q Qg1+ 10. Qg7 Qxf2 and white is actually up a pawn.
Someone please let the thread know if you spot a hole in my analysis.

As usual I only "got it" by trial and error, but it's a nice thematic puzzle!

This is like putting yourself in jail and throwing out the key. easy to solved and agreed with the first move being h6.
Agreed with Bradzy that if Black plays f4, it's a win for Black.
These puzzle gives us an idea of possible ways to draw.
Thank You for the insight.
Very cleaver puzzle! I'm just wondering. What if black decides not to immediately grab the pawn on a6, and instead, sac's the pawn by playing 1... f4+(not allowing white to have the stalemate possibility)? Does this not make it a win for black?

Very easy, but I like it.

Thanks, I am trying to force a stalemate right now, but probably not in as good a position.
doubledouble
Nice stalemate idea. Dvoretsky's endgame manual must be kicking in, because I actually solved this one! :)
ChessisGood
There are very many solutions. It's all a preference of move order. However, the first move must be h6.

I created this board and puzzle as an answer to this question - http://www.quora.com/Chess/What-are-the-most-effective-techniques-to-force-a-stalemate
I was trying to recall the game and move order and didn't see the consider 1..h6. Perhaps on quora no one would have find it but this is chess.com
