If like me you find the information on 960 castling on chess.com confusing or worse, read on. The usual castling rules apply but there are two things to remember.

1 To castle you need to drag the king onto the rook you want to castle with.

2 Regardless of the starting position of your king, castling short (ie O-O) is to the right for White and to the left for Black. Castling in the other direction is long ie O-O-O.
