Don't Be A Whimp!

Submitted by spikey11 on Thu, 05/21/2009 at 9:21am.

I am finding in alot of games I have been playing when I caputure my opponent's queen they whimp  out and surrender! (resign) What an insult.Just because you lose your queen your going to whimp out.The great masters of the the game would never surrender!!! If you are a whimp its not to late to be a Lion!!Never give up,fight to the end (sweet pawn endings)You will see the difference!                      Spikey11

You feel insulted if your opponent resigns? I'd take a resignation any day compared to having the task of checkmating somebody who's down significant material trying to hang on to a game in the hopes of winning on time.

If you are insulted because you feel your opponent "cheated" you out of chess action, offer him a rematch. I'm sure he would oblige. If he doesn't, then you are probably right in saying that he is a wimp.

Dude... I find articles lik this fairly irritating because they give advice and dont show how it works. Furthermore, any master would resign if they are down a queen. Down a piece, some would resign but down a queen or more???????

What kind of article is this? Did u waste 5 mins of my life just for me to read this?!?!?!?!

It would be very kind of you to either a)delete this or b)make sure that u dont write anymore articles like this.

If not, I will spam the article boards with 100 articles with contents saying (Articles #1, Article #2.....)

'the great masters of the game will never surrender'

Actually, most masters resign when they are down a knight without any compensation.

Any tempo. Why give up when you have so many other weapons ready for action!                     Spikey11

What tempo are you playing? In 5' it seems to me you can better stop.

Kind regards
