Not real famous but I did play in 1970 a game against Camille Coudari,naturally he won. He became IM in 1979. He wrote a book called "Chess Opening" published in 1973 under:" L'ouverture aux Échecs", I have a copy of the book.

Do you prefere online live play or the 3 day move games...
I prefer online but cannot play until there is a pause in the game, my wife is handicapped and requires attention at anytime. So I play the 3 day moves game.

Yes, played in a club for a few years in my 20's.

Whats your favourite Opening/Gambit...

As white, 1.e4, c4, d4.

I reply with black, 1. e4 c5 (Sicilian)mostly and at times e5( looking to play the Ruy Lopez), 1.c4 Nf6( often leads to Indian defenses), 1. d4 d5 ( closed game) or f5 (the Dutch).

Where'd you go for your holidays last year..

Cannot go anywhere, because my wife condition.

Whats your favorite, toad in the hole or sausage and mash

Prime rib with sauce au jus with mashed potatoes browned lightly in the oven and with mashed carrots and turnip or rutabaga.

No.  I first learned at home at a pretty early age.  Six or so.

Yes.  Several.  The first was an under 16's open competition and I think all the others are club related - Lightning and various other club events, I have won them all, but I never made it to club champion, there was always one person there that had the edge on me!

Yes, the English GM, in a public simul.  It was many years ago now (about 20) and I sadly can't find the game and I've even forgotten his name.  I lost btw :p

3 days per game atm, but once I start playing lightning (blitz) here, that may soon change.  I've been trying to iron out some rust before I go playing fast chess, but I really do love lightning :)

As white, various king pawn openings, such as the bishops, ruy lopez etc.

Sometimes I like to play the king's gambit, but usually only in lightning.  In slower games, I tend not to like gambits as I find myself trying too hard to win the material back.

Probably the Petroffs.
