that's the great Michael Tal who once said, there are two kinds of sacrifices: correct ones and mine. his games contain a lot of unclear sacrifices but he almost always find a way to win. during his time, computers are still at anĀ infancy and it was difficult then to know whether a sacrifice is sound or unsound while the game is being played. unlike now that engines give a numerical value to every position in real time. because of engines modern masters i believe play their games more conservatively now and this kind of aggressiveness is rarely seen these days. which is more glorious, winning because you made sound moves all the time or winning because your opponent made a mistake?
