Surprise!

Submitted by veggiegirlie on Mon, 11/16/2009 at 11:27am.

I should start getting used to the idea of winning games.  After all, this whole chessmentor and lessons and advice from AWESOME players is helping  (and my new favorite book, Secrets of the Russian Chessmasters, no plug intended ha ha)...

But when the box jumped on the screen and said that I won, I was surprised!

I almost jumped out of my skin.

I was trying to practice (i think it's french defense?, idk) anyways, here's the game...I honestly thought I would have lost on time.

I was very surprised at this win because I play this opponent regularly.  He is very good.  I enjoyed this game a lot and look forward to our next game.

i knew i was messing up on the french defense.  I couldn't remember it.  I'm still at that phase where everything jumbles up.  i was just trying to remember to always try to keep control of the center. I don't know how but I blundered everything up...ha ha!!

I forgot i was white...Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!  Now this makes more sense.

I'm absolutely hopeless...

Thanks for the correction Phil...

No, this is actually the philidor defense, which, I must admit, is considered pretty bad Smile. The french is 1.e4 e6.
