1000 moves

Submitted by Baseballfan on Sun, 03/23/2008 at 6:54am.

Today, March 23, 2008, I crossed the 1000 move mark on this site. I realize that this milestone is really only significant to me, but I still wanted to make a record of it. This is truly the best chess site I've seen, and I am glad that I can be a part of it. Somewhere on this site, I've seen the quote "What sets chess.com apart is the community" or something to that effect. I am in total agreement. Erik and Co. have done a good job of fostering and promoting the community aspets of this site. I think in the short time I've been a member here, I've spent more time on the site doing things OTHER than playing chess (posting in/reading the forums, tactics trainer, etc.) than I have spent doing similar activities on all the years spent on other sites combined. So as I mark this truely auspicious occaision :-), I hope to, at some point in the future, have the opportuity to mark my 10,000th and maybe even my 100,000 move!

You have the opportunity to mark 10,000 moves if you will read the book: "Ten thousand moves with Morphy". There are moves of the greatest genius. Excuse me for poor comparison!
