2 random places I'd never thought I'd see chess...

So this weekend I was looking for a film to watch on itunes and my friend said, "Veggie, I found the perfect movie for you to watch!"

It's a French film about a woman who learns and becomes obsessed with playing chess.  After she learns the game she sees herself differently.  Naturally, the people who are around her don't understand WHY she has to play chess...

The film is called Joueuse.

I also was sipping my coffee and reading the silly celebrity entertainment blogs that I consider my guilty pleasure.  As I scrolled down the website, they linked up to an article that was in the New York Times this past weekend.

I thought this was pretty cool.

I like how they mentioned a fourth kid but didn't focus on him because he was too old. He was fifteen.

I wrote a review about the movie (called Queen to Play in the US) on my chess blog, http://tacticstime.com/?p=1039 , I really enjoyed it!

There is a really neat chess position in it, which I showed as well :-)
