A long awaited success

You wouldn't think that losing on board 3 two days previously was a great set up for playing on board two against the team that's currently at the top of the league. But it would appear that miracles do happen, and in this game my opponent sealed his own fate for me quite early on. How very generous of him.

So, a pleasing result after all then. I may have missed a strong move, and this gave black a chance to get back in the game, but he didn't take it fully and ended up getting squashed anyway.

    Well, fair enough.

To be honest, I was pleased with a draw against someone you drew against.  And a 164.

Well, I think you have a nice pawn structure in the final position, and white has hanging pawns, which you may have been able to attack. I reckon it's worth playing on.

It really doesn't deserve a blog.  Maybe I hijack a comment of yours?

Thanks!  But yeah, I told you.

I'm sure they will. Sorta. But it was generally a downhill slope for black from early on, so, you know. Anyway, you should blog your game. It can't have been too dull, as you claim.

Nice win.  Bath will certainly think twice before playing us again.

Very nice play on the queenside, too.
