That was the problem. The rules were hard to parse so I put it on the shelf. I will make an effort to play again with my wife and see how it goes.

I get the 'gut' instinct it will be a fun game but for the lack of clear direction on the rules makes it tricky.

Gordon: after some time, can you tell us if the game is interesting?

The rules are a little cryptic. I need to sit down and play some more.

So we've played a few games and its fun! We're still leanring the rules. I'll write more once we're in the swing of things.

Got it today. Haven't played yet. The board is of high quality but the mahogony is too dark to contrast with the black lines. I'm sure it will be fine but I expected it to be a little lighter than the pictures.

Will let you know more when we play over the weekend. My wife is great at backgammon and I'm good at chess, so it'll be fun to see how this game works.

FedEx says the game will be here on Thursday. So I plan to play a few games with my wife who loves backgammon; I'm sure she'll beat me soundly.
