Another league game

So, the team played Bath A the other day, and since I had a quite exciting game, I thought I'd share it (Also peeps asked me to).

There were a few points early on where I may have tried for a better game, but I'm not sure what the opening was, so I just played what felt natural to begin with.

So, in general, white didn't mind bad pawn structure too much since it opened some handy files, and black's king was a little breezy, but in the end the slight innacuracy with Rae1 allowed black enough pressure to make sure I got nothing more than a draw. Hope you enjoyed it!

Also, as regards the rest of the match, we were two players down so took a penalty of two points, then we got two draws and two losses to leave with a not so awesome 1 point. Division one seems like a tough old nut to crack.

I'm quite liking this opening for black. I'll have to give it a go at some point.

maybe making a little sacrifice... it would possible save the game for black

The Four KNight opening... almost always generates an entaggled game like this

Well, the pawn pushing was certainly a good way for black to equalise here at least, but I still wonder if the h-pawn capture was valid. It would certainly have been a much edgier game, if that's possible.

And, as always Michael, you give exceedingly high praise. Cheers bud.

Tough nut to crack indeed.  Clearly with the grade performances out we can see why.  You should be on board 1!

I'm not convinced 7. ... g5 is too bad; there are some Nimzo lines that are similar where black does it, although I guess long term it'll bite black in the ass.

    13. fxg3 was a good call, I think.  Very Nimzo-ish.

Well done on the draw, especially with the grade.  Always nice to draw 2 pawns down!

Ok, don't know why the game wouldn't load before, but it seems good now.
