I have some of this books in paper - in Croatian, Russian or German.

Vladimir Vukovic, a Croatian IM (have in mind that ih his time - 1950's and 1960's) there were only 20-30 GMs in the world!), an excelent analist, wrote a series of book about the strategy of midlegame. The most importants (as "Art of Attack In Chess" - One of the finest chess books ever written, and: fairly advanced instructional classic, "still cited more than any other by players asked about their favorite book on the attack" - however, at the last article, John Watson made a mistake: the book was originaly writen in 1959. and not 1965. ), are avaible in the english translation.

I can say, not only for he is Croat, there are excelent books! His main examples in chess practise are Capablanca and Aljehin. He analised their's games and worked hard to develop an understanding of principles, which are the basis for their's sucesfull atacks - as like as 80 years before Stainitz did with Anderson's and  Morphy's games! Fischer and Kasparov marked the next step in a development of an agressive style in chess.
