Chess Head-Ache

I'm getting mentally exhausted from playing so much chess, but I'm an addict. I just goofed up on three games that I was TOTALLY winning, but now I'm behind and there's a good chance I'm going to lose at least one of them now. Any suggestions on how to refresh my mind? Possibly without having to stop playing for a while?

    Hi

I was just surfing and noticed your post. Three of the surest ways of losing are moving too quickly, playing off the screen without setting up on a board, and overvaluing one's position. Good luck with your chess!

Thanks for all the advice! I took a break this weekend and went and saw Metallica in Concert! That was QUITE an EXPERIENCE! They totally rocked! It was my first Metallica concert!!

Less games at once. Is good method doing phisical exercises, muscular stretching or similar. Not stay on the desk many time to think about moves. Is very exaustive. Not stop playing (it is worse) but change mental approach. The purpose of game must be: I must well playing, not to have a terrible battle :))

Do you use the analysis board? That can be a good thing to do as far as turn based chess is concerned.Try not to submitt your move to fast.Moving to fast is very bad .You also might try some vitamins.I watched my rating go up very much when I did these  things.................oh yeah .I also stoped playing as many games at one time .I keep it down to ..well,   I have been staying under 15 games for a while now.

If I get mentally fatigued, I like to play a few 5-10 minute games just to let my mind relax. It fulfills my chess need but it isn't as taxing as a 3 days/move game, and at least for me I can say "it doesnt matter as much if i win or lose this" so I won't get stressed out if I make a blunder, like I would if I do when I play a correspondence game.

Play only games that isn't anything complicated at the moment e.g. opening moves, or when position is blocked and you and your opponent waiting for other one mistake. Hard and complicated positions, with lot pieces exchanges, leave for tomorow or little later.

Less games at once and more depth before moving.

A good plan can also help you a lot.
