Club Advise, Pointers?

Submitted by Knightly on Fri, 06/27/2008 at 2:54pm.

As our monthly chess meeting rolls up, I have so much work to do! I am the founder and chairperson of the association. I have so many things that I must get done; I never thought managing a small chess club would be such a difficult task. And I don’t even know whether I’m making the club a success, or failing dismally. We are still very new, and this will be our first chess tournament meeting. Hopefully it will be a success, and we can gain in numbers.

 - I would like to hear about other chess clubs and see how they are doing, and exchange tips on managing a chess club. If you are a member, have been a member, or are the chairperson or one of the board members at a chess club, please tell me a little about how you make your club tick.

Thanks all for reading my blog, and please, enjoy your time on Chess.com!

I wrote a forum on how to promote chess for my club in taree. some of the answers where tournaments and going out and asking finding many ways to promote it helps its growth going to schools also helps. to build it. Basically u have to be active in it. play and have fun and be nice to new commers hahahaha

hoped that helped....Cool
