Those who are actively engaged in the site's activities and opportunities probably have the experience of an endless list of notifications(alerts). Some of which are match invites, some group feeds etc. They are useful in a sense as they keep me well informed, yet I cannot help but realise that they are really starting to irritate me.
Even though I know there is an option to turn what notifications you get, sometimes that's too annoying too seeing I have joined many groups, added many friends and joined many team matches.
I believe it would be a good idea to have a tool that automatically differentiate group sends from personal messages. This would then retain the excitement of seeing a notification as was the case when I first joined the site way back in 2008. The other messages can also be sorted into groups so that we know which ones at which time to read. It keeps things organised and does not let those personal messages slip away.
The ideal result of such manoeuvre would be that one would eventually get excited by seeing a notification, as in facebook, to an extent that one shall be looking forward to see what notes they have. It would be beneficial and would keep members more active on the site as there would be 'more' useful and desired interactions with the website.
Although I do not know the exact procedures or how much space it would take to make such a feature, I believe it would certainly make the website more accessible and friendly to all.
If you have read this far, thanks! And please comment your thoughts on this :)
